Evaluating your images
As a minimum you should use WWW. and EBI. to evaluate your own images.
To target higher marks in AO3 (Observations and insights relevant to intentions as work progresses) and AO4 (demonstrating understanding of visual language), you should discuss the following when evaluating your images:
FOCUS
Is the subject sharp, clear and in focus?
Is your eye drawn towards your subject or is there something else that distracts the viewer?
BACKGROUND
Did you consider the background in your image before shooting?
Are there any distractions in the background that detract from the image?
Do the colours, textures and objects in the background enhance or negatively impact the image?
Are there any Tangents that interfere with the subject?
COMPOSITION
Have you used any compositional techniques in your photograph such as:
TOPIC/SUBJECT/THEME
Does your image relate to the topic or theme?
Does your image realise your intentions?
LIGHTING
What was your light source?
Is the image correctly exposed?
What can you say about the quality and direction of light
IMPROVEMENTS
Finally, what have you learnt from this shoot that you would do differently next time?
