Surrealism
Surrealism is an art movement which began in the 1920s, writers and artists who experimented with ways of unleashing the subconscious imagination, including artists such Salvador Dalí and René Magritte.
In this project you will need to investigate surrealist photographers and produce some images based on your research.
Step 1 - What is surrealism
What is the difference between Automatism and Veristic surrealism?
Who was André Breton?
What is the difference between the conscious and subconscious mind?
Step 2 - Artist Research
Pick two of the following photographers and write a short paragraph explain their background.
- Analyse existing work

Step 3 - Mood Board
Create a mood board of at least 20 images you find interesting or that inspire you.
Step 4 - Initial Ideas
Develop some ideas based on your research. At this stage you should also start taking some sample images.
Step 5 - Refining ideas and experimentation
You should now start creating some images reviewing them and recording your observations.
